Andre Agassi once revealed he felt he was “chasing Steffi Graf all my life.”

One of tennis’ most celebrated couples caught each other and celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary yesterday.

The 55-year-old Agassi shared a touching tribute to wife Graf on Instagram yesterday.

“24 years with this wonderful woman ❤️Happy Anniversary Steffi, you are my unicorn!” Agassi wrote.

In his memoir Open, Agassi shared the story of how the Hall of Fame couple wed at his Las Vegas home, barefoot and nearly blown away, with both of their moms present, in October of 2001.

“Stefanie and I, barefoot and wearing jeans, stand before the judge in the courtyard,” Agassi writes in Open. “The judge runs through his legal rigamarole and Stefanie and I are just about to say I do, when a team of landscapers arrive. I run outside and ask them to please turn off their lawnmowers and leaf blowers for five minutes so that we can get married. They apologize. One holds a finger over his lips.

“By the power vested in me, the judge says, and at last, at long last, with two mothers and three landscapers looking on, Steffi Graf becomes Stefanie Agassi.”

Both iconic champions own career Grand Slams.

Steffi Graf delivered arguably the greatest single season in history when she swept the Golden Slam–winning all four major titles plus the Olympic gold medal—in her classic 1988 season.

Graf remains the only player–male or female–to win the calendar Golden Slam.
