Azarenka Pulls Plug on Season
Victoria Azarenka has closed the curtain on her 2018 season citing personal reasons.The former world No. 1 officially withdrew from Luxembourg, which begins on October 15th.Sabalenka: Women, We Are CrazyAzarenka retired from her Toyko quarterfinals against Camila Giorgi, while trailing 5-3 last month.The 55th-ranked Belarusian posted a 17-12 record on the season with five of those victories—over CC Bellis, Madison Keys, Anastasija Sevastova, Agnieszka Radwanska and Karolina Pliskova—coming during her run to the Miami Open semifinals in March.
Kateryna Kozlova replaced Azarenka in the Luxembourg field.Venus Williams has also withdrawn from the tournament due to a knee injury.For personal reasons, Viktoria Azarenka @vika7 decided to end her season earlier than planned and will not play In Luxembourg. She will be replaced in the main draw by Kateryna Kozlova.
