The Credit One Charleston Open is doubling its prize money in 2026.

The tournament takes place from March 28th to April 5th.

This total investment doubles the amount offered in 2025, and makes Charleston the first standalone WTA 500 event to proactively raise its purse.

Charleston was named the WTA’s 500 tournament of the year by the players in 2025.

According to the tournament, the announcement marks a historic milestone as the WTA continues on its pathway towards prize money equality, with all tournaments at this level projected to offer equal prize money by 2033.

For comparison’s sake, this week’s Dallas Open offers $2,833,335 in prize money, while the ABN Amro Open in Rotterdam offers 2,462,660 Euros, or $2.9 million. In 2025, the Credit One Open offered $1,064,510 in prize money.

“Women’s tennis is delivering at a very high level right now, from the quality of competition to the engagement from fans, and this investment reflects that,” said tournament owner Ben Navarro. “Offering equal prize money is about respecting the players and the work they put in, and aligning the tournament with the value of the game.”
