Rybakina Pulls out of Last Wimbledon Warmup with Hip Issue
A day after being taken out by Alexandra Eala in Berlin, World No.2 Elena Rybakina has announced that she won’t play again until Wimbledon.

Rybakina announced her withdrawal from next week’s Bad Homburg Open in Germany, citing a hip issue.

“Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from Bad Homburg due to some discomfort in my right hip. I need to consult with my medical team and undergo further assessment before making any decisions about the next steps.”
Rybakina has lost three of her lost four matches, dating back to her second-round loss to Yaroslava Starodubtseva at Roland Garros.
On the grass she won her first round at Queen’s club before being knocked out by Katie Boulter in the quarterfinals, 6-4 in the third.
Yesterday Eala defeated her 7-5, 6-4 in Berlin. Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, is 32-10 on the season with titles at the Australian Open and Stuttgart.
