Nadal’s Words of Encouragement to Alcaraz: Moments of Difficulty Highlight Success

King of Clay Rafael Nadal was one of the many names who took to social media to send good vibes to Carlos Alcaraz on Friday, after the two-time defending Roland-Garros champion announced that his right wrist injury had forced him to pull out of his title defense in Rome and Roland-Garros.

“Keep it up, Carlos! I hope you have the quickest recovery possible. These moments of difficulty highlight everything you’re doing. Much strength and a big hug!” Nadal wrote.

Nadal, famously, had more than his share of injury setbacks during the course of his legendary career, and he always handled his difficulties with the same intensity that defined him on the court.

In short, the 22-time major champion is the perfect role model for Alcaraz in this case.

World No.1 Jannik Sinner, the biggest rival of Alcaraz, also had kind words for the Spaniard.

“Tennis needs Carlos,” Sinner said at the Madrid Open. “Tennis is a much better sport when he’s around. I believe that it’s good that he and his team take the time. If you come back too early then maybe you have a bigger problem afterwards.

“We all want that he’s competitive when he comes back. The next goal I guess for him, and I hope so, it’s Wimbledon. So I hope he’s going to be back there.”
