Europe Leads the Rivalry

Team Europe holds a commanding 5-2 edge over Team World in the all-time Laver Cup series. After dominating the first four editions, Europe has seen World push back with wins in 2022 and 2023.

New Captains at the Helm

For the first time in the competition’s history, neither Bjorn Borg nor John McEnroe will be captaining. Instead, Andre Agassi takes charge of Team World, while Yannick Noah leads Team Europe.

Support from Tennis Legends

Backing up the captains are two accomplished vice-captains: Tim Henman (Team Europe) and Patrick Rafter (Team World). Both bring invaluable experience and leadership.

Alcaraz Headlines the Field

World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz is the highest-ranked player at this year’s event, arriving in San Francisco fresh off his US Open title.

Eight Cities in Eight Editions

This will be the eighth edition of the Laver Cup and the first to be staged in San Francisco. Previous hosts include Prague (2017), Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019), Boston (2021), London (2022), Vancouver (2023), and Berlin (2024). The event continues its tradition of rotating between Europe and cities outside Europe.

Star Power from the Top 5

Three of the ATP’s Top 5 players are competing: Alcaraz (No.1), Alexander Zverev (No.3), and Taylor Fritz (No.5). We should expect nothing less from the event that once brought Nadal, Federer, Djokovic and Murray on the same team.

A Rising Brazilian Teen

The youngest player in the competition is Brazil’s Joao Fonseca, who turned 19 in August and brings youthful energy and a skyrocketing game to Team World. Fonseca, ranked No.42, is the highest-ranked teenager in men’s tennis.

High-Stakes Scoring Format

The first team to 13 points wins the Cup. Matches are worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, and three points on Sunday, ensuring that drama peaks late in the weekend.

Alcaraz’s Winning Streak

Alcaraz enters Laver Cup riding a 13-match winning streak. He just defeated Jannik Sinner in both the Cincinnati and US Open finals, arriving in red-hot form. The six-time major champion is 61-6 on the season with two major titles and seven titles overall.

Plenty of Experience in the Ranks

Seven players on this year’s rosters have lifted the Laver Cup before. Zverev has been a part of all five of Europe’s triumphs. Casper Ruud (2021, 2024) and Fritz (2022, 2023) are both two-time winners, while Alex de Minaur (2022), Francisco Cerundolo (2023), Alcaraz (2024), and Flavio Cobolli (2024, as a reserve) have also contributed to Cup victories.
