Marie Bouzkova broke the grass ceiling in Nottingham today.
Bouzkova broke serve four times out-dueling American Emma Navarro 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-2 to capture her fourth career championship, including her maiden grass-court crown, at the Nottingham Open.

It is Bouzkova’s second title of the year following her title run on the red clay of Bogota earlier this year.
The victory vaults Bouzkova to a new career-high ranking of No. 22 in the WTA Live Rankings.
The 27-year-old Czech dropped just one serve in five tournament wins to improve to 20-13 on the season.
The 25th-ranked Navarro fired 10 aces and saved 10 of 14 break points, but ultimately ran out of gas playing her third three-setter of the week. Navarro spent two hours, 40 minutes longer on court than Bouzkova reaching the final.
In the final set, Bouzkova her third break point to break in the American’s opening service game. Bouzkova backed up the break at 15 for a 3-0 lead and never looked back capturing a two hour, 57-minute victory.
