ESPN’s Wimbledon TV Schedule and Commentary Team

The tennis cathedral will welcome a noted new voice to the commentary choir.
Former world No. 1 Andy Roddick makes his long-awaited debut as an ESPN analyst for the network’s Wimbledon coverage, which starts on Monday.
Former No. 1 Pete Sampras famously called Centre Court Wimbledon “a tennis cathedral.” Roddick can bring pointed opinion to the pageantry and the experience of playing one of the most dramatic Wimbledon finals in history, bowing 16-14 in the fifth set to Roger Federer in the 2009 Wimbledon final.
The 2003 US Open champion Roddick, who remains the last American man to win a Grand Slam singles championship, is a three-time Wimbledon finalist and one of the sport’s most popular podcasters.
“[Roddick brings] a lot. He’s got a great personality,” ESPN analyst Patrick McEnroe told the media in the network’s Zoom call last week to promote its Wimbledon coverage. “He’s been doing his podcast, which has been incredibly successful.
“Obviously as player we know what he did winning the US Open, multiple other finals, including a few at Wimbledon. He’s very outspoken, very smart, and opinionated. I think he’s going to be amazing. It will be a lot of fun to work with him.”
ESPN today announced its commentary team and TV schedule for The Championships 2026.
Legendary champion Chrissie Evert, a long-time ESPN commentator, sadly will not be covering The Championships this year.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion announced ovarian cancer has returned and she’s continuing her ongoing cancer battle.
“This past weekend, after undergoing CT and PET scans, I learned that my ovarian cancer has returned,” Evert, 71, posted. “I have already undergone surgery as the first step in my treatment and recovery, and will begin chemotherapy in the coming weeks.”
The network’s broadcast schedule starts Monday, June 29th with daily coverage from all 18 courts on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes (Spanish) and streaming on the ESPN App for ESPN Unlimited plan subscribers. ABC will broadcast select live Round of 16 matches on Sunday, July 5th, between noon and 5 p.m. ET. All Disney+ subscribers can access Day 1 action of the tournament directly within the app.
Wimbledon will climax with the Ladies’ Championship and the Gentlemen’s Doubles Championship on Saturday, July 11, and the Gentlemen’s Championship and the Ladies’ Doubles Championship on Sunday, July 12, on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and streaming on the ESPN App. ABC encore presentations of the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Championships air on July 11 and 12 at 3 p.m. each day.
