Makarova and Vesnina, Hingis and Chan First to Qualify for WTA Finals

Fresh off the Rogers Cup title, the Russian duo of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina have qualified for this year’s WTA Finals at Singapore. Last year’s defending champions have won three titles this season, including Wimbledon to lead the WTA Finals leaderboard with 6265 points.TN Interview: Paul Annacone Talks Sampras, Federer and New BookThe Russians, who qualified for the fifth consecutive year, are joined by Martina Hingis and Chan Yung-Jan Newly formed this season, Hingis and Chan have won five titles, including Indian Wells, Madrid and Rome.Hingis is a three-time champion and will be making her eighth appearance at the WTA Finals. Chan is making her fourth appearance.
