Kerber Parts Ways with Beltz, Hires Fissette as New Coach
Angelique Kerber will begin 2018 with a new coach. The German, who struggled through a difficult 2017, going 29-24 and dropping out of the Top 20, has parted ways with longtime coach Torben Beltz and hired Wim Fissette.More: Serena Williams' Wedding Set for Thursday in Big EasyFissette spent 2017 coaching Johanna Konta. Fissette has a great pedigree. He began his career coaching Kim Clijsters and has also worked with Simona Halep and Victoria Azarenka in addition to Konta.

Kerber had trouble maintaining the success she achieved in 2016 when she won two major titles and rose to the No.1 ranking. The German went 24-9 vs. the Top 20 in 2016, but went 1-14 against the Top 20 this season.Kerber reached three major finals in 2016 and eight overall.
