Elina Svitolina has spent her career realizing many of her tennis visions.
Now, the former world No. 3 is showing her support for Saving Sight.

The 31-year-old Svitolina stars in a new Saving Sight fundraiser promotion. It’s an initiative raising money for ophthalmic equipment that can help Ukrainians restore vision lost because of explosions they experienced in the war.
In the video, Svitolina plays through a series of missed serves: each hit cuts the screen to black, reflecting how thousands of people suddenly lose their sight due to explosions. At times, the screen goes blurry signifying how many victims of the war have struggled losing sight. The light returns as she delivers a perfect serve — symbolizing how vision can return, too.
“When you keep hope alive, there’s always another chance,” Svitolina says in the video. “You may lose focus for a while, but with the right kind of attitude and a little bit of help, it can come back to you.

Among those who donate $10 or more between December 11–18th, Elina Svitolina will raffle off five Roland-Garros tennis balls signed by her.
