The tournament announced Djokovic’s withdrawal on social media today.

The Qatar Open is set for February 16-21st.

Former world No. 1 Djokovic won back-to-back Doha titles in 2016 and 2017. Djokovic defeated rival Rafael Nadal in the 2016 final and beat Andy Murray in the 2017 final.

A year ago, Djokovic lost to Matteo Berrettini 7-6(4), 6-2 in his Doha opener.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is on the Indian Wells entry list and scheduled to play the BNP Paribas Open next month.
