17-Year-Old Tagger to Face Blinkova for Jianxi Title

Lilli Tagger, world No.235 from Austria, reached her maiden career final atr the Jianxi Open, defeating Switzerland’s Victoria Golubic, 6-1 4-6 7-5.

Currently the ITF’s No.6-ranked junior, Tagger won the Roland-Garros girls’ title in June, and is the first Austrian to ever achieve that feat.

Tagger saved three match points and rallied from 5-2 down in the third to defeat defending champion Golubic.

“It’s quite tough to talk now because I’m shaking,” Tagger said. “At the end it was an amazing feeling.”

Anna Blinkova will be her opponent in the final. The Russian defeated Dominika Salkova, 6-4 6-4 to reach her second career final.
