Wawrinka: I love being a tennis player
By Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Wednesday October 16, 2024He’s older, and the wins are harder to come by than ever, but Stan Wawrinka’s passion for the sport and his desire to continue playing remain undiminished. That’s great news for tennis fans who have suffered too much loss in 2024. In a year that saw legends Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Dominic Thiem and Diego Schwartzman say goodbye to tennis, it’s great to know that Wawrinka plans to continue for as long as he can.On Wednesday in Stockholm the Swiss played brilliantly in taking out talented American Brandon Nakashima, 6-4, 6-4. After the win – his seventh of the season in 21 matches at ATP level, he took to Twitter to post his favorite backhand winner.
