Jelena Jankovic’s Epic Grand Slam Streak Will End in January
Ai Sugiyama’s consecutive Grand Slam streak is safe for at least another four years.Jelena Jankovic has withdrawn from the 2018 Australian Open, ending a streak of 56 consecutive Grand Slam played, leaving her six majors short of Ai Sugiyama's all-time WTA record. The former World No.1 has been plagued by injuries of late and her future in professional tennis is very much in doubt.
Jelena Jankovic won't be in Melbourne for the Australian Open 2018. For the first time in her whole career she won't play a Grand Slam event. Still uncertain when (or if) she will comeback to the WTA tour.

The 32-year-old has not played since last year’s U.S. Open and is currently plagued by a back injury. She is currently ranked 159 in the world after going 9-19 in 2017.
