Tsitsipas and Ivanisevic Split after Two Weeks

It was fun while it lasted. The much talked about partnership of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Goran Ivanisevic has ended after just two events. Tsitsipas broke the news, which did not come as unexpected, on social media on Wednesday, saying:

“Working with Goran Ivanisevic was a brief but intense experience and a truly valuable chapter in my journey.
“I’m thankful for the time, effort, and energy he dedicated to me and my team. As we are now following our separate ways, I have only respect for Goran — not just for what he’s achieved in tennis, but also for who he is as a person.”
Perhaps the split was influenced by comments that Ivanisevic made about Tsitsipas after Wimbledon? We’ll likely never know.
“He has to resolve his back issue. I was shocked. I’ve never seen such an underprepared player in my life,” the Croatian, who won a Wimbledon title as a player and coached Novak Djokovic to his last 12 major titles, said.
