Thiem Qualifies for 2019 Nitto ATP Finals, Three Spots Remain Unclaimed
Dominic Thiem already had plenty to celebrate before he won the China Open on Sunday.That’s because the Austrian booked his spot in this year’s Nitto ATP Finals for the fourth consecutive year. Thiem will join Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Daniil Medvedev at The O2 in London from 10-17 November.Thiem’s matches the record of fellow Austrian and former World No. 1 Thomas Muster, who participated at the tournament in 1990, 1995-97.Thiem owns a 3-6 lifetime record at the ATP Finals but he has proven himself like never before on hard courts in 2019. He won the Indian Wells title and owns a 15-7 record on the surface in 2019. His 2019 winning percentage of .682 on hard courts is significantly higher than his career winning percentage on the surface of .573.

There are still three spots currently up for grabs in the Race to London standings and they are occupied by Stefanos Tsitsipas, Roberto Bautista Agut and Alexander Zverev.
