Steffi Graf had a well-earned reputation as one of the best movers in tennis history.
Now, the 22-time Grand Slam champion will encourage consumers to move in her new role.
Former world No. 1 Graf has signed on to serve as brand ambassador for supermarket chain Lidl’s sportswear clothing line called Crivit.
Lidl announced Graf, who wore adidas clothes during her playing days, as new Crivit brand ambassador in a social media post.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the legendary tennis player Stefanie Graf as our new CRIVIT Brand Ambassador!” Lidl posted on social media. “Stefanie joins us to remind everyone to:
Find your own drive & do what makes you happy. Move for the pure fun of it, just like when we were kids. Don’t be afraid to try something new and step out of your comfort zone.”
Here’s a reminder of what a beautiful and dynamic mover Steffi Graf was on court:
Graf’s husband, Andre Agassi, once revealed he felt he was “chasing Steffi Graf all my life.”
One of tennis’ most celebrated couples caught each other and celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary last October.
The 55-year-old Agassi shared a touching tribute to wife Graf on Instagram last fall.
Iconic champions Agassi and Graf both own career Grand Slams.
Steffi Graf delivered arguably the greatest single season in history when she swept the Golden Slam–winning all four major titles plus the Olympic gold medal—in her classic 1988 season.
Graf remains the only player–male or female–to win the calendar Golden Slam.
