Puig, Sharapova Bring Aid to Puerto Rico
Monica Puig poured her heart out for Puerto Rico yesterday.Today, the Olympic gold medal champion delivered aid and hope to her hurricane-ravaged home.Watch: Halep Surges in Singapore OpenerPuig and Maria Sharapova traveled to Puerto Rico to deliver supplies and resources to the island.The YouCaring page Puig created in support of hurricane relief efforts has raised more than $141,000.Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico destroying the power grid and creating flooding and massive damage to homes.More than 80 percent of the island’s 3.4 million people are still without power, The Washington Post reports.The pair, who played an exhibition in Puerto Rico last December, met with Governor Ricardo Rossello.
