Ons Jabeur Pulls out of Courmayeur Open with Elbow Injury, Putting WTA Finals Appearance in Jeopardy
By Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Sunday October 24, 2021Ons Jabeur currently sits in the last qualifying spot when it comes to making the WTA Finals at Guadalajara, but her qualification for the WTA’s season-ending championships is out of her hands now as the top Tunisian and current World No.8 has pulled out of this week’s Courmayeur Ladies Open with an elbow injury.
Ons Jabeur has been forced to withdraw from Courmayeur with the same elbow injury that forced her to retire from her Moscow R1 against Alexandrova.Anett Kontaveit now the frontrunner for that last WTA Finals qualification spot.

Jabeur is currently 139 points ahead of Anett Kontaveit for the final spot. The Estonian is currently the No.2 seed in the Transulvania Open draw in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She’s got her work cut out for her, however – Kontaveit would need to win the title in order to pass Jabeur.It's a stressful time for both players, but they are each having fun with it on social media:
