Kypson, Mandlik Earn Australian Open Wild Cards
Elizabeth Mandlik and Patrick Kypson clinched main draw wild cards into the 2026 Australian Open by finishing first in the women’s and men’s Australian Open Wild Card Challenge.
24-year-old Mandlik, from Boca Raton, is the daughter of four-time Grand Slam singles champion Hana Mandlikova, the Australian Open singles champion in 1980 and 1987. She will make her fourth career Grand Slam appearance and first since 2023.
Mandlik won the W100 tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma and reached the semifinals at the W100 tournament in Irapuato, Mexico, to win the competition.
Kypson, 26, previously won the Australian Open Wild Card Challenge in 2023 to make his main draw debut in Melbourne in 2024; he also won the 2023 Roland Garros Wild Card Challenge. The North Carolina native won Challenger singles titles at the 100 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and at the 125 in Helsinki, Finland, to clinch his victory in the Wild Card Challenge.
The Australian Open will take place, starting with qualifying week, from January 12 to January 31.
