Kasatkina Splits with Longtime Coach Platenik

Russia’s Daria Kasatkina has parted ways with her longtime coach Vladimir Platenik. The 20-year-old World No.31 earned her first career title under Platenik this April in Charleston, and reached the second week at a major for the first time at the U.S. Open in September.

Today, I would like to announce that after three years my coaching relationship with Vlado Platenik has arrived to the end. We spent an amazing time and reached a lot of heights together. It was an important cooperation and productive experience for me. I want to thank Vlado for his support, and that he has always been on my side, and to wish him all the best in the future.

Kasatkina has earned three Top-2 wins this season and reached the quarterfinals or better at WTA events three times. It is not yet known who Kasatkina will collaborate with next. ]]>
