It’s Getting Ridiculous – Four Stats that Define Aryna Sabalenka’s Dominant First Quarter of the 2026 Season
Everything but the Slam title. That is the story of Aryna Sabalenka’s first three months of the 2026, which were conclude don Saturday with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over Coco Gauff in the Miami Open Final.
Sabalenka, who fell to Elena Rybakina in this year’s Australian Open final, has only lost a single match and she will head to the European clay toting a 23-1 record on the season. Here are five stats that define her first quarter.

The Double is Done
Not only did Sabalenka successfully defend her Miami Open title and extend her tournament winning streak to 12, she also became the fifth woman in history to complete the Sunshine Double – winning Indian Wells and Miami in the same year. She joins a list that includes Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters, Victoria Azarenka and Iga Swiatek.
Sabalenka is just the 2nd player since 1989 to reach both finals at the Sunshine Double in back-to-back years, after Sharapova (2012-13).
She’s dropped four sets
Not only has Sabalenka dropped just one match this year, she has barely dropped sets. The World No.1 has dropped just one set to a player not named Rybakina on the season and dropped just four overall.
Only Top 5-ranked players have managed to take sets off the World No.1.
She has won 46 of 50 sets played in total, and 21 of her 23 victories have come in straights.
She’s played four finals and won three titles already
Sabalenka is the fourth player since 2000 to reach the final at her first four events of a season, joining Martina Hingis (2001), Serena Williams (2003) and Victoria Azarenka (2012).
With her win, Sabalenka also became the only player to ever defeat Gauff in a hard court final. The American was 9-0 in hard court finals prior to Saturday.
She’s Still No.1
Sabalenka will commence her 76th consecutive week at No.1 on Monday, which ties her with Chris Evert for 11th on the all-time list for consecutive weeks as the WTA’s top-ranked player.
She will commence her 84th week at No.1 on Monday, overall.
