Five American Men – Most Since ’96 – Reach Round of 16 in Miami

It’s been a banner week for the American men in Miami, with five players reaching the round of 16. With top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz already out of the draw, the three American men in the top half – Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda – have a legitimate shot to reach the final.

Today those three were joined by Frances Tiafoe, who saved a pair of match points to defeat defending champion Jakub Mensik, and Alex Michelsen, who took out Alejandro Tabilo.

Five American men will bid for quarterfinal spots on Tuesday in Miami.
