21-year-old Korda, the No.2 seed, is the Group B winner. The World No. 39 improved to 30-17 on the season with his win over the 19-year-old Italian.

Nakashima, 20 and ranked 63, took out Denmark’s Holger Rune, 3-4(3), 4-1, 4-1, 4-3.

Nakashima places second in Group A, behind undefeated Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz will face Argentina’s Sebastian Baez in semifinal action on Friday.

“I have never played Brandon before,” Korda said. “I have practised with him a bunch of times. It is going to be a new experience for me and for him. Hopefully we can play some good tennis and put on a good show for everybody.”

Nakashima has now won 11 of his past 13 matches.

“It feels great,” Nakashima said of making the last four, on court after the victory. “It was a really tough match right from the beginning, but I tried to stay focused on one point at a time and tried to play to my strengths out there to get the win.”
