The second-seeded Querrey cracked 15 aces and dropped just five points on his first serve defeating first-time finalist Thanasi Kokkinakis, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in the Los Cabos final.
“It’s really exciting to win here," Querrey said. "I felt like I played really well. This tournament only keeps getting better, so I’m already excited to come back next year."
Empowered by his run to the Wimbledon semifinals last month, Querrey claimed his 10th career title, including his second in Mexico this year.
Querrey defeated Kyle Edmund, David Goffin, Dominic Thiem, Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal in succession to win the Acapulco title in March.
“I think the last couple of months have been the best I’ve played and if I can keep this going the rest of the year, it’ll be my best year on tour yet," said Querrey, who is projected to return to the Top 20 for the first time in four years when the new ATP rankings are released tomorrow.
The 29-year-old American has won nine of his last 10 matches. Querrey's second title of the season marks the first time since 2010 that he's won two or more titles in a single season.
"So far, this has been the best start to a season for me and we're a little over halfway done," Querrey said. "And I've got maybe 10 tournaments left so hopefully I can finish strong and finish with a new career-high ranking for myself."
