Updating the ATP and WTA record books following Week 1 of the US Open.

Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt have each now appeared in 54 Grand Slam tournaments, tying both men for 10th place in ATP history alongside Stefan Edberg and Vincent Spadea.

With his walkover against Mardy Fish on Monday, Roger Federer has now tied John McEnroe for fifth place on the all-time US Open match win list at 65.

Hewitt and American Andy Roddick are currently tied for seventh in career match wins at the US Open along with Stefan Edberg and Guillermo Vilas. All four men have 43.

Federer's advancement on Monday gave him 128 Grand Slam match wins on hardcourts, surpassing Andre Agassi for No. 1 all-time in that category in the Open Era.

With three wins to start the tournament, Novak Djokovic has improved to 36-6 at the US Open all-time, a match-winning percentage of 85.71%, good for third place all-time. He has moved ahead of Ivan Lendl (84.88% and Jimmy Connors (85.09%) this week.

Serena Williams'
victory on Monday gave her 22 career Grand Slam semifinal appearances, moving her past Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario into sole possession of third place in the Open Era.

With her first-round victory, Venus Williams tied Lindsay Davenport for fourth in Open Era wins at the US Open with 62.

Including her victory on Monday, Serena Williams now has 59 career match wins at the US Open. She suprassed Sanchez-Vicario (56) earlier this week and is now 6th all-time.

Kim Clijsters finishes her career ninth in Grand Slam career winning percentage at 81.09% (133-31). Clijsters finishes fifth in US Open winning percentage at 86.36% (38-6).

By losing in the first round, Caroline Wozniacki became just the fifth woman to make at least the semifinals in the previous year, then be bounced in her first match the following year, joining Pam Shriver (finalist in 1978); Joe Durie (semifinalist in 1983), Svetlana Kuznetsova (champion in 2004) and Anna Chakvetadze (semifinalist in 2007).
