Jenson Brooksby, ranked No.507 and just three months into a comeback after a nearly two-year hiatus, reminded everyone of just how good he is at the game of tennis this week in Houston.

The 24-year-old American, who saved match points on three different occasions to reach the final, battled past 2023 champion and No.2 seed Frances Tiafoe for his maiden ATP title, 6-4, 6-2.
For his efforts, former World No.33 Brooksby will rise over three hundred spots in the rankings to return to the Top 200.
“You’ve been through a lot in the last couple of years, so I know this is massive,” Tiafoe told Brooksby during the award ceremony.
“Congrats to Frances on another great week – three finals here that is awesome stuff, and thank you to my team as well,” qualifier Brooksby said. “All the way from qualifying, match point down [three times], that’s pretty intense, thanks for sticking with it every match, every day here with me.”
Brooksby improved to 7-4 on the season, and 3-3 vs the Top 20.
In 2023 Brooksby was suspended from the tour for missing three doping tests, and also went through two wrist surgeries. He missed time on tour from the beginning of 2023 until the start of this season.
During that period he also revealed the public that he is autistic.
"It's ... just something I don't want to have to keep to myself," he told the public when he revealed the news late last year.
Brooksby led Tiafoe by 4-0 early in the final, but was reeled back to 4-4. He didn’t let it discourage him as he rushed through eight of the final ten games to claim the title at the River Oaks Country Club.
