In a final of extremely fine margins, it was 23-year-old Italian Luciano Darderi who came up big in the biggest moments to claim the title at Marrakech.

Darderi defeated Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 7-6(3), 7-6(4) to claim his second ATP title and join 2024 champion Matteo Berrettini, Fabio Fognini and Marco Cecchinato as the only active Italian men to have won multiple ATP clay court titles.
“The last moment was really difficult for me, but I fight ever day for this moment,” said Darderi after claiming the title.
“Tallon is an amazing player, you never know what’s gonna happen – 7-6, 7-6 is really tough.”
Griekspoor and Darderi traded blows all afternoon, combining for 67 winners, with Griekspoor hitting 39, including 21 off the forehand wing. Darderi hit 28, and 18 off his forehand wing.
The pair split the 164 points played in the two hour and three minute final – 82 each.
Breaks were traded late in the first, with Darderi breaking for 5-4 before Griekspoor immediately reeled him back.
Darderi would soon win 5 of the final six points of the breaker to take the lead.
The 57th-ranked Italian saved all three break points he faced in the second set and again took the tiebreak. Darderi is up to 48 in the ATP live rankings.
