De Niro and Federer? The Pair Feature in Switzerland's Latest Tourism Video

One of tennis’ leading men has teamed up with one of Hollywood’s leading men.
Roger Federer
and
Robert De Niro
for a video to promote tourism in Switzerland.
Except in the video, posted on the My Switzerland homepage, there’s a catch: De Niro snubs Federer, turning down the appearance with the 20-time major champion because Switzerland is “too nice.”
In the video, De Niro tells Federer that he is an actor that needs an edge (at the end he tells him to try Tom Hanks).
Federer proposes that the pair ski down the alps in the video, or sky dive onto a field of grazing cows, but De Niro holds his ground in the spoof. It’s not gonna happen, he says.
"I've admired Robert De Niro's work for quite some time now, but I wasn't sure he'd agree to be part of our Swiss project. I'm very excited it worked out so well," Federer said.
The film shot last fall in Zermatt, Switzerland, and New York, USA, can be viewed online worldwide.
"Adding this touch of Hollywood to our campaign will bring more attention to Switzerland and its dramatically beautiful nature" states Martin Nydegger, CEO of Switzerland Tourism.
