Jessica Pegula has stepped out of Brisbane.

The US Open finalist withdrew from the Brisbane with a knee injury.

Dream Team: Djokovic and Kyrgios to Partner in Brisbane

The 30-year-old Pegula, an Adelaide semifinalist last January, was pained by a left knee injury after her run to her maiden major final in Flushing Meadows.

Pegula joins veteran Aussies Thanasi Kokkinakis and Ajla Tomljanovic in pulling out of Brisbane, set for December 29-January 5, 2025.

The 31-year-old Tomljanovic, who like Pegula has been battling a left knee injury, said she hopes to be fit for the Australian Open.

"I’m so disappointed to withdraw from the Brisbane International, but I wanted to be 100 per cent ready to compete, which I am not,” Tomljanovic wrote in an Instagram post. “I’ll continue my prep and see you all at the Australian Open.”

Kokkinakis, who represented Australia at last month's Davis Cup Final 8 in Malaga, Spain, has been bothered by a "small hip issue."

The man who partnered Nick Kyrgios to the 2022 Australian Open doubles championship is still on the entry list for Adelaide, the week before the Australian Open starts.

"Sad to miss @BrisbaneTennis this year. Dealing with a small hip issue that needs some more time, but hopefully back for the rest of the summer,” Kokkinakis wrote in a post on X.
