Gael Monfils will join fellow Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on the doubtful list for Wimbledon after a scary fall on the Halle grass forced him to retire from his tilt with Andreas Seppi with a strained adductor on Friday. The injury occurred in the second game of the match. Monfils would try to trudge on but he pulled the plug after a game of the second set, trailing 6-1, 1-0.
Earlier in the day, news broke that Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had withdrawn from Nottingham with a lingering abdomen injury. He has not played since the French Open.
