Serena: If It's Farewell, I Won't Tell

An emotional Serena Williams received a standing ovation from fans following her 6-3, 6-4 Australian Open semifinal loss to Naomi Osaka.

Contesting her 40th Grand Slam semifinal, Williams came up short in her quest to win her 24th Grand Slam title to match Margaret Court's all-time major mark.

The 39-year-old superstar acknowledged the support from fans touching her heart with her hand as she waved good-bye.

Was it a final farewell or simply a champion’s appreciation for years of Aussie crowd support?

Asked if this was her final farewell to Melbourne in her post-match presser, Serena teared up and replied "I don't know. If I ever saw farewell I wouldn't tell anyone."
