Monfils Out of Hopman Cup


Gael Monfils has stepped out of the Hopman Cup citing a leg injury.

Kenny De Schepper will replace Monfils and partner Caroline Garcia for Team France.

"I’m disappointed that I have to withdraw from the Hopman Cup," Monfils said in a statement posted on the Hopman Cup website. "I was really looking forward to travelling to Perth for the first time and teaming up with Caroline Garcia. I wish Kenny and Caroline the best of luck and hope they can hold up that prestigious trophy."

Alize Cornet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga led France to the 2014 Hopman Cup championship. Last year, Agnieszka Radwanska and Jerzy Janowicz defeated Serena Williams and John Isner of Team USA to capture the Hopman Cup.
