It's a positive health sign for Bouchard, who suffered a concussion after a fall in the US Open lockerroom on September 4th.
Still suffering effects from the concussion, Bouchard did not complete a match after the US Open. She retired from her Beijing opener in tears citing diziness and later filed a lawsuit against the USTA charging the Tennis Association with negligence in lockerroom fall.
Bouchard will launch the new year making her Shenzhen debut. She joins two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova and WTA Finals champion Agnieszka Radwanska headlining the field for Shenzhen, which starts on January 2nd.
The 21-year-old Canadian has entered the Hobart International, beginning the week after Shenzhen.
"I want to start my 2016 season strongly and am hoping to get high quality matches in Hobart," said Bouchard. "I've had great success in Australia in the past and can't wait to experience a new city."
