2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu has been forced to withdraw from the US Open due to an ongoing issue with a stress fracture in her back.
The 51st-ranked Canadian announced the news on Saturday, and has been replaced by a lucky loser in the women’s singles draw.
Andreescu initially injured her back at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C. and ended up pulling out of the National Bank Open in Montreal as well.
The former World No.4 is 15-16 on the season with a best performance semifinal at Hua Hin in January.
