It is the second marathon for Puig, who completed the 2022 New York City Marathon with then fiance Nathan Rakitt. Puig finished the New York City Marathon in Central Park in about 4 and a half hours, so her Boston time is a considerable improvement.
Following their joint New York City Marathon run, Puig and Rakitt flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico where they were married.
Despite posting a personal-best marathon time today, Puig won't be spending too much time celebrating her Boston finish.
The 2016 Olympic gold-medal champion is moving on to run the London Marathon this Sunday, April 23rd.
It's all part of Puig and husband Rakitt's trek to run the six major marathons by 2024 to earn the Six Star medal from the Abbott World Major Marathons. The medal is awarded to runners who complete the world's six most prestigious marathons.
So far, the couple has completed the New York City and Boston Marathons.
They're setting their sights on running London, Tokyo, Berlin and Chicago to earn the Six Star medal.
