Gael Monfils tournament return will have to wait.
The 34-year-old Frenchman withdrew from this week's Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters due to a calf injury he aggravated in practice.
More: Monfils, Svitolina Are Engaged
Monfils, who announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Elina Svitolina last week, announced his withdrawal on social media.
"Sadly, I am forced to withdraw from the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters," Monfils posted on Twitter. "I have been feeling some pain at the bottom of my calf for the last 10 days and it got worse yesterday during my last practice.
"On the advice of the medical staff, I took an ultrasound, which has confirmed the extent of the injury. Therefore I am forced to postpone my return to play. However I remain positive and optimistic for the rest of the season."
The 14th-ranked Monfils has played just two matches this season bowing to Emil Ruusuvuori in a five-set Australian Open first-round loss in his last match.
