Emotional Djokovic Breaks Down in Tears While Celebrated in Belgrade

By ChrisBy Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Wednesday September 13, 2023Novak Djokovic broke down in tears as he was celebrated in a Belgrade homecoming after winning his 24th major title on Sunday at the US Open.Tennis ExpressThe all-time Grand Slam singles title leader, joined by the Serbian men’s national basketball team, who were celebrating their recent silver medal at the FIBA World Cup, was met with rapturous applause from legions of fans.


In the now famous square between Belgrade City Hall and the House of the National Assemly, Djokovic was driven to tears by emotion before he addressed the crowd.Djokovic headed from Belgrade to Valencia on Wednesday to take part in Davis Cup action for Team Serbia.
