Venus Talks About Serena’s Comeback

Huge news in the tennis world broke yesterday, as 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams announced that she has accepted a wild card into Queen’s Club where she’s expected to play doubles with 19-year-old Canadian star Victoria Mboko.

A day later, her sister Venus appeared in Paris on the TNT set and talked about her sister’s natural talents.

“I think she hits every now and then,” Venus said on the TNT desk, with a smile. “I never see her on the court that often. I don’t know when she’s been practicing, honestly.
I’m honest. I don’t know how her form is, but what I will tell you is that she could not hit for four months, and I’ll be hitting, and she’ll come out and grab a racket and running shoes, and just hit the ton out of the ball without ever hitting.”

Not much footage of Serena hitting has emerged, other than a practice with American Alycia Parks earlier in the season. Watching her take the doubles court should give us an idea, at least, about how the most legendary serve in women’s tennis history is faring.

Venus hasn’t seen her play much lately, but she said it’s pretty much a lock that 44-year-old Serena will be in good form.

“The quality of her stroke is obviously there. She’s a little bit of a natural, I would say. I’m not worried about, like, how she’s gonna play.
Even though I, even though I really haven’t seen her play.
