1. Earlier in the week, Roger Federer took his turn on the bongos at Hopman Cup. Last night it was Belinda Bencic, and she did not disappoint. Is it possible that Bencic might be having TOO MUCH fun at Hopman Cup? Nah.
2. Alizé Cornet has mad respect for Elina Svitolina’s consistency. In fact, she claims that the Ukranian has not made an unforced error since before she was born. No matter: Cornet will face Pliskova (who defeated Svitolina last night) in the Brisbane final.
3. Sabine Lisicki will miss the Australian Open for the first time since the 2011 Australian Open. Her streak of 23 consecutive Slams will come to an end due to a shoulder injury.
4. Sascha Zverev DID NOT WANT TO DANCE, but he was a good sport and did some Petko dancing for couples during the Hopman Cup.
5. Hang on a second, somebody get us a fan and a glass of water before we watch the below video. It has 13K retweets and counting, and parental guidance is suggested.
6. Heather Watson rocks out on the drumkit, quite nicely, might we add.
7. Last but not least—Ana Ivanovic out for a winter’s walk. She’s missed.
That’s it for Friday January 6! See you guys next week!
