NEW YORK—Serena Williams celebrated the century mark in style.

It took Williams just 44 minutes to trample Wang Qiang, 6-1, 6-0, capture her 100th career US Open victory and power into her 13th Flushing Meadows semifinal.

Continuing her quest to claim her 24th major crown and match Margaret Court's all-time Grand Slam record, Williams isn't suffering any identity crisis— and says she isn't trying to send an intimidation message.

"I don't try to up any intimidation factor," Williams said afterward. "I am who I am. I've always been the person that goes out there and roars and screams and complains and cries and fights.

"I'm extremely passionate about what I do. Most people that love their jobs are passionate about what they do. That's just me."

No. 5-seeded Elina Svitolina, who beat Williams at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, stands between Serena and her 10th US Open final.

"Well, she is obviously a fighter," Williams said of Svitolina. "She gets a lot of balls back. She doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

"She's one of those players that does everything really well. So I have to do everything well, too."
