Kyle Edmund launched the Asian swing with a loss—and a coaching split.
The British No. 1 and coach Mark Hilton called it quits, but the parting was atypical for tennis these days.

The decision to split was Hilton's rather than Edmund, according to the BBC's Russell Fuller.
Hilton and coach Freddie Rosengren helped guide Edmund to the 2018 Australian Open semifinals.
However, the 32nd-ranked Edmund has struggled with a left knee injury that has limited him to 30 matches and just 12 wins this season.
The 24-year-old Edmund plans to work with former coach Colin Beecher, who is listed as one of his official coaches on his ATP bio page, during the fall Asian swing.
