Sloane Stephens advanced to the Korea Open quarterfinals—and may have found a nutritional guru in the process.
The third-seeded American saved 11 of 13 break points fighting off ageless Kimiko Date-Krumm, 6-3, 6-4, in Seoul.

Stephens said Date-Krumm, who celebrates her 45th birthday on Monday 20 years after she reached a career-high rank of No. 4, is such an inspiring presence she may adopt the veteran's nutritional program.
"The fact that she is still playing is incredible. I don't know how she does it," Stephens told WTATennis.com. "She even looks great — I don't know what it is she's eating or drinking, but I need to get on that! She's an unbelievable athlete and a super-sweet person as well."
Playing for a spot in her fourth semifinal of the season, Stephens takes on Belarusian qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the quarterfinals. Sasnovich was a 6-3, 6-3 victor over Magdalena Rybarikova.
Top-seeded Irina-Camelia Begu will play Sweden's Johanna Larsson for the first time in the quarterfinals.
No. 2-seeded Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, who beat Christina McHale, will face German Mona Barthel for a semifinal spot.
