Novak Djokovic will be back on the court this month.
The world No. 1 has accepted a wildcard into the Erste Bank Open, which starts on October 26th in Vienna.
More: Nadal Dismisses Djokovic
It will be Djokovic's first tournament since bowing to Rafael Nadal in a French Open final straight-sets loss.
Djokovic returns for his first Vienna appearance since he swept Stan Wawrinka to win the 2007 Vienna title. He joins a field that includes US Open champion and home favorite Dominic Thiem, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Roland Garros semifinalist Diego Schwartzman.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion is playing for his fifth title of the season. Djokovic captured his record-extending eighth Australian Open crown in February followed by winning Dubai. Since the sport resumed from the COVID-19 pandemic disruption, Djokovic won a pair of Masters championships at the Western & Southern Open in New York and Rome last month.
