Ask a silly question, get a serious answer. Or, should we say: ask a funny question, get a funny answer? Rafael Nadal could have laughed and said “NEXT QUESTION” when this journalist asked him if he had thought of “Changing his condition” like Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have recently done (by getting married), but instead, Nadal was polite and answered the question thoughtfully.

We found ourselves cracking up while watching him answer this question. “I don’t need to get married, I believe, to play good tennis,” he says. “I played a lot of good tennis during a lot of time without being married, so that’s not going to be the key.”

Clearly Nadal, who is very superstitious about a lot of things, doesn’t think that tying the knot will help him win more majors. If only it could be that simple.

Another thought: If Rafa is overly protective about his water bottles, how would he be with a wedding ring on court?
