If Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are to meet for the first time in nearly two years at this year’s Swiss Indoors Basel, they’ll both have to reach the final. Federer and Nadal, who have not met since the 2014 Australian Open, find themselves in different halves of the draw this year.

Flashback: Federer Wins Basel Title, Defeating Goffin in Final

Top-seeded Federer, a six-time champion who has reached the final in Basel for 11 years running, will face Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round and could a qualifier or Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round.

If he progresses, Federer would face his opponent in last year’s final, David Goffin in the quarterfinals, and either 4th-seeded Kevin Anderson or 6th-seeded John Isner in the semis.

Federer owns a record of 56-9 at Basel, but he’s the tournament’s undefeated pizza king:

Nadal, who was upset by Borna Coric in last year’s quarterfinals, will open with Lukas Rosol and could face Grigor Dimitrov in the second round. If he progresses, Nadal would face 7th-seeded Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals and either 2nd-seeded Stan Wawrinka or 5th-seeded Richard Gasquet in the semifinals.

Wawrinka opens with Ivo Karlovic in round one, and could face Alexandr Dolgopolov in round two.
