With 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek in his corner, Stan Wawrinka hopes he can take his grass game to the next level. The two-time major champion announced on Friday that he’s adding Krajicek to his team for the next four weeks.
Wawrinka owns a 26-22 career record on the grass, and has only made the second week at Wimbledon in four of eleven appearances. In recent years, however, Wawrinka has improved. He has reached the quarterfinals in each of the last two seasons at the All England Club. Last year he earned his first Top 20 win on grass when he defeated David Goffin in the round of 16 at Wimbledon.
Wawrinka will begin his clay season next week at Queen’s Club.
