Alexander Zverev had a happy moment during the first set of the Halle final against Florian Mayer. He pulled off a ‘tweener to die for which further reinforced the notion that the 19-year-old German is indeed a star in the making.

Unfortunately for Zverev the rest of the first set has pretty much belonged to Mayer. The 32-year-old world No. 192 has taken the opener, 6-2.

Zverev, bidding to become the youngest ATP titlist in over eight years, became the youngest player to defeat Roger Federer since Rafael Nadal beat the Swiss at Roland Garros in 2005.

Update: Mayer took the match and the Halle title, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.
