Venus Williams has always been a visionary. Ten days after celebrating her 36th birthday, Venus revealed an ambitious goal: Partnering sister Serena at the 2020 Olympic Games.

"We have to start looking at 2020. That would be impressive," Venus told the media at Wimbledon following her first-round win over Donna Vekic. "If you think this year's impressive, hold on. That would be a blessing if we did play.

"I'm so grateful for each and every time we've had a chance to play and qualify. It's been beyond our dreams. It means the world to us to play together."

The five-time Wimbledon champion has won five Wimbledon doubles crowns with Serena. The sisters are entered in the doubles draw this year, aiming to claim their first Wimbledon doubles title since 2012 and to prepare for their quest for a record-extending fourth Olympic gold medal in doubles at the Rio Games.

"We've started playing a few matches," Venus said. "We're back in action, which is great news for us. We'll have a chance to really continue to get better. Our goal is to peak in Rio. But both of us on the court is a good combination any time."

Sometimes you've got to laugh it off!

The Williams sisters shared the court as hitting partners before Wimbledon, which Venus says sharpens her game with extended rallies.

"We make each other better because there's no better hitting partner than Serena," Venus said. "When I play with her, of course, I don't want to miss. Our rallies last for five minutes.

"We started practicing a lot more doubles to make up for the time we haven't had a chance to play. Especially when you're constantly playing well, we didn't get a chance to play last year because Serena was really focused on the majors. It was really important for her to save her energy. So it's nice to be back on the court."

Contesting her 19th Wimbledon, Williams played with her thigh taped, but said she feels eternally young.

"I still feel 26, so... I don't think anyone feels older," Williams said. "You have this infinity inside of you that feels like you could go forever. That's how I feel on the court. As long as I'm halfway decent, can get my racquet on the ball, I think I can make something happen. So far so good."
